Captain Carl, Thanks for the wonderful airboat ride and all the interesting stories you told us. It was the best part of our trip. The kids are still talking about it, more than anything else we did on our trip to the USA. I will recemmend this trip to all our friends, and we will see you next year. Have a great summer. This was our first airboat tour with Captain Carl. We had a wondeful time and saw lots of wildlife. We would do it again and recommendit it to anyone. Captain Carl is a great guide with a lot of humour.

Every so often you meet extraordinary people and Captain Carl is one of those individuals. He turned what I expected to be a fun day out, into something special which has since become one of the highlights of our holiday. Carl showed us with a rare knowledge and passion the 'untouched' Florida, the 'real' Florida where nature totally outshines any man made theme parks.
Many thanks to Captain Carl and we strongly recommend Mild to Wild to anyone heading to Florida.

Great ride! Our family joined Captain Carl for the breakfast tour on Aug. 1, 2009. I picked his tour by reading other reviews online so find it fitting to comment on our trip. This was our first airboat ride. We are so glad we took the breakfast tour as we are sure the other trips wouldn't have been long enough. Although we didn't get to see too many alligators due to the time of year, there was plenty to see! Plenty of birds and the flowers were in full bloom. Carl was very personable and knowledgeable.
Our kids (ages 16 and 19) had a great time. My 19 year old said it was the highlight of our whole trip! This was not a do nothing trip--we had been down to Key West and took the Fastcat to the Dry Tortugas. But of everything--this is his favorite. We all enjoyed the trip so much that we would definately hunt Carl up if we get to Florida again and recommend him to anyone we know is headed that way.
If you get in his area, definately give Carl a try!

WOW!! What a 'TRIP'. This was the most exciting thing we did on our vacation. Captain Carl took us on a once in a lifetime trip, deep into the swamp and marsh of the Kissimmee River. He took us thru what he called the Garden of Marsh, and the flowers that we saw was breath-taking. I cannot say enough about this trip. If you are ever thinking about a airboat ride, this is the one. His knowledge of the swamp was exceptional, his stories funny and entertaining, and Captain Carl, we WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR. Thanks for the wonderful trip. Mark & Kathy, Pittsburg, Pa.

We had a fantastic morning out on the lake and through the swamp with Captain Carl on the 24th July 09. He showed us a great deal of the wildlife and we were captivated by the whole experience. Through the holiday we visited all the theme parks but to us this was certainly the highlight of our holiday and something I wish I had done before.

We just got home and could not wait to write about the unbelievable time we had today.
I have lived in Florida since 1960 and this is the 1st time on an airboat as well as Marie. It was fantastic! But what made it great was Capt. Carl. The history, the stories, the education, the baby alligators, the flowers and especially the trained birds. Capt. Carl was informative and funny as well as experienced.
We can't wait to bring our grandkids for a ride of their life. It is so refreshing to see old Florida and it's natural beauty. It is quite obvious that Capt. Carl loves what he does.

We took our first tour March 23, 2009 with friends and again in April with family. It was a highlight of everyone's vacation. Capt. Carl was very entertaining and informative and the airboat ride was just plain FUN! We hope to take the breakfast tour next season and we definately will bring more friends on this wonderful adventure when they visit us next winter.

Fantastic! 1st airboat ride for my entire family. Captain Carl took us out June 3rd 2009. He was entertaining and informative. The boat was fast, the experience once in a lifetime, The wildlife plentiful, I do not impress easily, but must say, if you are considering booking something special in your Florida vacation, Mild To Wild is a must do!

Just returned from our second airboat adventure with Captain Carl. Weather was beautiful. Once again Captain Carl did not disappoint us. We saw many alligators as well as Bald Eagles and other rare birds. Capt. Carl takes his time and you can tell he really enjoys what he does. I highly recommend everyone doing this.

Our family went on the nature tour with Captain Carl. We had the best time, not only did we have a great time riding on his boat but we learned so much from him! We took a nature tour with Capt. Carl over the Christmas holidays, and could not believe the sights and things we saw. Capt Carl took plenty of time with our kids, showing them baby gators as well as monster ones, various birds, and even let the kids have a try at steering the boat. We all had so much fun it was hard to realize it when our trip was over. The kids said it was more fun than Christmas at Grand-dads house. It was both an experience as well as an adventure. Thanks Captain Carl for a very interesting trip! Our 2 boys, 2 and 5 still talks about the alligators! (even though the boat put them to sleep part of the trip).
I was quite surprised how wild and real everything was and how many huge alligators we saw. We also saw some really unusual birds. Carl was extremely knowledgabe and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the tour.
We took a bunch of pictures and promise to send them to you, got some really nice shots of the extremely friendly uncomon bird...wish I remembered the name of it!

WORTH EVERY PENNY! We took an afternoon tour and had an awesome time! Captain Carl was a wonderful captain/tour guide - knowledgeable, friendly, & funny! If you want a great tour of the "real" Florida, this is the one to take. If possible, we will be back.

We're a family of 6, there we were fishing on the shoreline as Capt. Carl was loading up his air boat onto the trailer when I inquired about taking all of us out for a spin. What I thought was going to be just fun turned out to be one of the most exciting excursions we've ever done. It was also very informative for my children. It's one thing to talk about the everglades, but it's a little more exciting when you're staring at a 13'gator or even better 1' baby gators, still with their stripes from birth. What blew away my kids the most was seeing Florida Longhorn cows out in the middle of this swampy, marsh environment.I'll let Capt. Carl explain to you how these rare cattle got there in the first place. We can never thank you enough for taking the time to make our journey such an incredible experience that we will never forget. See you next time we're in the area!!!

Mild to Wild came highly recommended by a family member that had been on the tour. Their recommendation was right on. Everything from beginning to end was AWESOME. Fantastic, fun, wonderful!! All on our boat agreed that this was the best airboat ride they had ever had. Capt. Great tour. Captain Carl is a great guide as well as an entertainer. We learned a lot about florida, its vegatation and wild life. My husband & I called today around noon to see if we could get set up to take a tour this afternoon & Capt Carl was more then happy to take us out this afternoon even though it was quite windy out. It was just my husband, myself & Capt Carl on the last tour of the evening. The tour & the airboat ride were Great but the BEST part about the tour was our guide, Capt Carl. He knew just were to take us to get the best pics of Gators of ALL sizes, several kinds of birds & just the beauty of the swamp itself. We didn't know what to expect when we started out but were soon @ ease & having a wonderful time. Capt Carl answered our questons willingly & knowledgablly. He worked hard against the wind to get stopped for pics in all the good spots. Thank You Capt Carl for working so hard for us this afternoon. Can't wait to get our pics back so we can share them with Capt Carl & with all our friends & family. Or to be able to come back for another tour when the wind/water are calm (I will b

What a great tour. We finally got to see what Florida is all about, not just Disney. The tour showed the beauty of the state and was presented by Capt Carl, with his wit and knowledge. This tour is a must for all visitors to Florida and with Capt Carl at the helm you certainly won't be disappointed.

Took this tour on the recommendation of friends. None of our group had ever been on an airboat, and so we did not know what to expect. We were totally flabbergasted when this tour was over. We really had a blast. Captain Carl is extremely friendly, and so knowledgeable about this entire area. We couldn't believe it when the trip was over, the time passed so fast. In Jan 2010 My Grandparents and my boyfriend and I were brave enough to let Capt. Carl take us on an amazing ride! It was very interesting and educational and not to mention a blast! We took tons of pictures as Carl knew where all the cool spots were. I told him I was studying Forestry in school and he made sure he told me plenty of info about the trees in Florida. Truly an awesome trip. We've done other trips into the Everglades, but this trip beats all of them. A personal feeling between the Captain and the visitors really impressed us. We saw more wild life up close and natural habitat then a person could imagine. A day well spent !!

We have been on 3 other airboat tours in Florida and Captain Carl's was by far the best. We had great weather, but the thing that made the trip was Carl. Carl made the tour fun, educational, and interesting. We not only saw lots of wildlife, but learned about how Florida used to be. History and childhood accounts of the area were at Carl's fingertips. One of the couple who went with us were apprehensive about going. They had a great time as we all did.

Captain Carl is a phenomenal tour guide. His incredible knowledge and life experiences bring his tour to life like none other can! It was a dream come true for my husband and an unforgettable experience for my Dad and his wife who have not stopped talking about the tour!!!
It is not over the top to say that the swamp knows Capt. Carl as well as he knows the swamp; get up close and personal with alligators (large and small), bald eagles and exotic birds to mention only a few. This is a great learning experience!
I give this experience two thumbs up and five stars.

This airboat ride was FANTASTIC. I'm a "local" but have never been on an airboat. Capt. Carl is definitely the best -- so knowledgable about all the birds, plants, and trees, and knowing the best times and places to go. Great for nature enthusiasts and photoists, like my daughter. Happy to oblige all the extra stops for photo taking. The Indian mounds and trip through the cypress trees were really special, and the baby gator hatchlings were so cute. Definitely plan to do again, but only with Capt. Carl as the guide. The souvenir photo was a great bonus, too.

We took a nasture tour with Capt. Carl today, and had a BLAST!! He had our group in stitches before we were out of sight of the launch ramp. I have never been on a guided tour and had so much fun. It was way more than any of us expected. The natural scenery, wildlife, and trip thru the swamp was something we will never forget. Had our airboat trip with Capt. Carl just today, 10/5/09. Absolutely awesome. All 4 of my boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves, as did my husband and I. Capt. Carl was very knowledgeable, and makes you feel like you've known him all your life. If you can only afford to do one thing in Florida, make this be the one thing you do. You'll never regret it!

We just took the nature tour with Captain Carl, and can certainly understand all the hype on this comment page. It was so much more than we ever expected. His knowledge was exceptional, but of course he is a native of Fla, so when you ask him a question, he has the answer, and his trip thru the swamp was something we will never forget. He takes all the time to show you the many interesting things in the lakes and swamp, and his excitement is contaigous. We had a blast, and recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the real old Florida with a true native. We shall return, and bring other family members.
